Please tell us a little about yourself.
Hi!! I’m Mandy, a Craft and DIY Blogger who loves to blog and enjoys all things crafty, sewing, and DIY – I think that if I can do something, you can too. So I provide tutorials to help you along the way. I love being a mom to 4 awesome kiddos and blog from the rural Kansas City Area, where we are finishing up self-building (yes, we’re crazy!) our own home.
Why did you decide to start a blog? What do you enjoy about blogging?
I fell into blogging. I lived away from family and loved sharing pics of my kiddos on our family blog so that extended relatives could keep up with all the fun. I started posting DIY projects as well, to show off to my family far away, and then when I realized that the projects were overshadowing my kiddos, I decided they should have a blog of their own. And so my DIY Craft blog was born!
How would you describe your design style?
We are currently building our own home (like, “grab a hammer, let’s build this!”) and have dubbed our home design style “rustic modern”. It’s a mix of rustic and a mix of modern 😉 Lots of woods mixed with metals and farm chic mixed with pops of bright colors.
Where do you find most of your inspiration?
I think there is inspiration all around! I love watching other blogs and seeing the trends in DIY and design and trying to mold those trends into my personal design style.
Tell us about a recent project you’re proud of.
Well, as mentioned, we’ve built our own house, so that takes the cake for the project we’re most proud of! There’s lots more work to do, but there’s a great sense of accomplishment that comes from seeing it all come together.
